Ue, cresce ancora l'inflazione

The eurozone price growth rate stood at 3.4% in September 2021, 0.4% higher than in August.

EU/ENG - Inflation is still rising in the eurozone and the EU. Eurostat confirmed its flash estimate of October 1st. The eurozone rate stood at 3.4% in September, 0.4% higher than in August. This is a significant difference compared to the -0.3% decline in the same period in 2020, at the height of the pandemic.

The rebound in inflation is also confirmed for the broader EU area (3.6% in September compared to 3% in August).

Energy prices, Eurostat explains, followed by services, non-energy industrial products, food, alcohol, and tobacco, are weighing on inflation growth.

Inflation growth is very strong in Lithuania and Estonia (6.4%) and Poland (5.9%). Italy has a rate slightly lower than the eurozone average, at 2.9%. Among EU countries, inflation rates are very low in Portugal (1.3%) and Greece.
