La Bce alza i tassi di altri 25 punti base e li porta al 4%. Continua la lotta all’inflazione

Nell'Eurozona l’inflazione è in calo, ma il Board prevede che rimarrà troppo elevata per troppo tempo

Il Consiglio direttivo della Banca centrale europea ha deciso giovedi 15 giugno di aumentare i tre tassi di interesse di riferimento di 25 punti base con effetto dal 21 giugno 2023. I tassi di interesse sulle operazioni di rifinanziamento marginale e sui depositi presso la Bce saranno così aumentati rispettivamente al 4%, al 4,25% e al 3,50%. 

La decisione si apprende a poche ore da quella presa dalla Federal Reserve degli Stati Uniti che ha invece lasciato i tassi invariati, concedendo così un primo stop dopo 10 rialzi consecutivi e ha mantenuto il costo del denaro fermo in una forchetta fra il 5% e il 5,25%. 

 

Obiettivo: ridurre l'inflazione 

Le stime sull'inflazione nell'Eurozona si attestano al 5,4% nel 2023, cala al 3% nel 2024. 

La Bce non ha smentito le previsioni che circolavano sui media alla vigilia del Consiglio che resta determinato a garantire che l'inflazione ritorni tempestivamente al suo obiettivo di medio termine del 2%, nella consapevolezza, più volte ribadita dai diversi membri negli ultimi mesi, che nell'Eurozona l’inflazione è in calo, ma si prevede che rimarrà troppo elevata per troppo tempo.
